About Lázaro
In “Lázaro”, the Mexican theater company Lagartijas Tiradas al Sol reconstructs the story of an actor who decides to change his face and name and become someone else. Ever since he started playing characters for films and plays, being someone else had been his job. But, unlike previous times, this time it would be forever. Luisa Pardo and Lázaro Gabino Rodríguez analyze the archive of the films and personal photos of Lázaro asking themselves: What makes me be myself and not someone else?

About Lagartijas tiradas al sol
Lagartijas Tiradas al Sol is a flock of artists. We work on stage, we make books, radio, videos and learning processes. Since 2003, we started developing projects as a mechanism to link work and life, to erase and trace frontiers. Our work seeks to create narratives upon events from the reality. It has nothing to do with entertainment, it’s a space to think, articulate, dislocate and unravel what the everyday life fuses, overlooks and presents us as given.
About The Festival
The Segal Center Film Festival on Theatre and Performance (FTP) is an annual event showcasing films drawn from the world of theatre and performance. The festival presents experimental, emerging, and established theatre artists and filmmakers from around the world to audiences and industry professionals. The 7th annual festival will focus on work for the screen created by theatre artists during the Time of Corona. The festival will be held digitally from March 1st – 15th 2022.
