Country: Palestine | Running Time: 10 | Language: Arabic (Lebanese) | Year Of Release: 2021
About Every Piece of Me
‘Every Piece of Me’ is about Palestinian women living their lives under occupation and enduring constricting societal expectations. The piece was written by the late theatre artist Weam Al Dairi. Several of Weam’s friends came together to produce this piece. We feel privileged to be sharing some of her ‘final words’. The production also aimed to unite participants and performers of different backgrounds, with lived experiences of life under occupation, or conflict, and above all, as women.

About Weam Aldairi / ASHTAR Theatre
Weam Aldairi was born in Gaza where she first became involved in theatre. When ASHTAR Theatre created “The Gaza Monologues” (https://www.gazamonologues.com) with a group of children in Gaza who had been affected by the 2008 bombings, the ‘War on Gaza’, Weam went along with a friend to take part. She thrived in the group sessions, and ended up writing and performing one of the monologues. She later moved to Ramallah to pursue her passion for theatre. We have produced this piece in her memory.
