About Last Gasp WFH

Last Gasp WFH was developed in a site-specific Zoom format transforming a quarantine-home into a stage for the experience of sheltering in place. Last Gasp WFH looks for ways we might catch our breath in these times of global uncertainty, considering our ‘last acts’ in a series of verbal and physical essays that playfully dances through the dangerous intersections of permanence and impermanence, interdependence and care, knowledge and experience, narcissism and echoes.

Created in collaboration with Lois Weaver, Peggy Shaw, Nao Nagai, Vivian Stoll, and Morgan Thorson. Written and performed by Lois Weaver and Peggy Shaw, Directed by Lois Weaver, Video design and editing by Nao Nagai, Sound design by Vivian Stoll, Movement by Morgan Thorson, Company Producer Laura Hunter Petree.

Last Gasp is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, in addition to the Wellcome Trust, the Guggenheim Foundation, and the NYC Women’s Fund for Media, Music and Theatre by the City of New York Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment in association with the New York Foundation for the Arts. Research residencies for development of Last Gasp were completed with the Guthrie Theatre, Metal Culture, Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, the Barbican, and Artec at University 8 Paris.
