About Mad Forest
This production of Caryl Churchill’s 1990 play Mad Forest (about the fall of Romania’s dictatorship at the turn of the last century) was in rehearsals in March when theaters around the world shut down. The team created a new concept, design and performance practice to perform on a newly-modified Zoom platform. Originally presented by the Fisher Center at Bard for one live webcast in April 2020, and subsequently remounted for three live webcasts presented by Theater for a New Audience in May 2020.

Ashley Tata makes multi-media theater, opera and performances that have been called “fervently inventive,” (New York Times) “extraordinarily powerful” (LA Times) and named a notable production of the decade in The New Yorker. These have been presented in venues and festivals throughout the US and internationally including at Theatre for a New Audience, Ars Nova, PS21, LA Opera, Austin Opera, The Miller Theater, National Sawdust, EMPAC, The Prelude Festival and the Fisher Center at Bard.
About The Festival
The Segal Center Film Festival on Theatre and Performance (FTP) is an annual event showcasing films drawn from the world of theatre and performance. The festival presents experimental, emerging, and established theatre artists and filmmakers from around the world to audiences and industry professionals. The 7th annual festival will focus on work for the screen created by theatre artists during the Time of Corona. The festival will be held digitally from March 1st – 15th 2022.
